Diana L. Hayes was a lawyer in New York, busy being a professional woman, minding her own business.
Then in 1979 God got in the way. She has gone from the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church to the Catholic Church; from being a lawyer to being an internationally renown Catholic theologian and one of the founders and leaders in the "womanist" theology movement.
It is a strain of Christianity formed by black women who bring their voices to the theology and influence the church's teachings.
