Apr. 19--BC/BS LOOKS AGAIN AT MEDICARE HMOS: With word that BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina plans to distribute one of the Medicare prescription drug discount cards, we wondered whether the Columbia-based insurer would take another step and return to the Medicare HMO ring.
Its answer: "Maybe."
Perhaps that's better than no. Or maybe it's worse, depending on your point of view.
BlueCross doesn't have an HMO option. It ran one through Prime Companion in the 1990s. It was available only in the Charleston area, and had about 1,000 ...
