Shoua Moua was so lost in the blur of her own traditional Hmong wedding three years ago that she is still unraveling the meaning behind the centuries-old practices.

For instance, she now knows a bride only enters through the front door of a house. The back door is for common day-to-day uses.

Moua, a 25-year-old English teacher at Cleveland Middle School in St. Paul, is one of about 40 students at St. Paul's Hmong Cultural Center decoding the myths and customs behind traditional Hmong weddings.
