Apr. 21--The York County Convention and Visitors Bureau has applied to host a statewide sporting event that could generate $7 million for the area between 2005 and 2007.
In February, the bureau submitted a bid to the Keystone State Games to score a three-year contract that could bring the Pennsylvania sporting event to York County.
Approval of the bureau's bid by the Keystone Board of Directors in June would mark the first time York County would host the event's summer games, said David Farrand, an executive director of the Keystone State Games.
