CSX TRANSPORTATION: DERAILMENT OF FREIGHT TRAIN IN KENTUCKY CAUSED BY A TRUCK'S COLLISION WITH AN UNDERPASS, CAUSING SHIFT IN TRACK OVERHEAD
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- CSX Transportation Inc. officials today announced that the derailment of its freight train yesterday at Shepherdsville, Ky., was caused by the collision of a garbage truck with an underpass, causing a dramatic shift in the track overhead.
The train accident, involving 27 cars, 13 of which went down an embankment of the Salt River, occurred approximately 10 minutes after the truck, owned by Waste Management Systems of Kentucky, rammed the underpass. The collision forced a severe ...
