Apr. 23--An alleged insider trading scheme that involved several residents of tony Fisher Island -- and netted the participants $24 million in illicit profits -- is the subject of a lawsuit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.
The SEC alleges that Alfred S. Teo Sr. and 10 of his relatives, friends and colleagues used insider information to illegally make money in the takeover of two companies: Musicland Stores and C-Cube Microsystems.
Teo, a major Musicland shareholder, learned of a planned bid for that company in 2000, then made secret purchases ...
