Not to be discouraged by last year's Prestige fiasco, the company formerly known as Crown Resources is making a quiet return to this year's river navigation season at the Baltic and White Sea ports.
ERC Trading Co. is currently loading a seagoing tanker, the Evros, anchored outside the Baltic Sea port of St. Petersburg. The trader is loading the 48,000-ton vessel with fuel oil from river barges by ship-to-ship (STS) transfer. The barges are bringing fuel oil mainly from the Bashneftekhim refining complex.
Trading sources believe ERC will continue these one-off STS vessel loadings throughout the river navigation season, as a lower key alternative to ...
