Article: INDIA'S CONSTRUCTION COST INDEX UP 7.7% IN 2003-04.

NEW DELHI, April 15 Asia Pulse - The Construction Cost Index rose by 7.7 per cent in 2003-04 as against 5.1 per cent in 2002-03, according to the Construction Industry Development Council's latest updates.

"This rise in the construction cost has been due, to a larger extent, to increase in cost of steel and cement, and to a lesser extent to hike in the cost of aggregates and bricks and wages," a CIDC statement here.
