ST. LOUIS _ On the same weekend defensive end Leonard Little was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the Rams courted more criticism by drafting a player with a substance abuse history.
After narrowly missing out on Virginia quarterback Matt Schaub on Saturday, the Rams selected Michigan State quarterback Jeff Smoker in the sixth round on Sunday.
Smoker, a record-setting passer for the Spartans, could be the quarterback who pushes Kurt Warner off the Rams' roster after June 1. But as a college junior, he basically pushed himself off the Michigan State roster in 2002 because of a substance abuse ...
