Anaheim, CA -- If trade show attendance and activity is an indicator of the industry's health, North America's PWB industry can be likened to a man awakening from a three-year coma. IPC Printed Circuits Expo 2004, co-located this year with assembly-oriented APEX and the Designers' Summit, was almost like the shows of old: busy, upbeat and for exhibitors, worthwhile. According to IPC, attendance increased 8 percent over last year, from a combined exhibition total of 5,300 in 2003 to 5,700 attendees this year. The halls were often full of attendees--both on the show floor and technical conferences--and exhibitors reported good, quality meetings with potential buyers.
