Lately I've been hearing a lot of talk about something called the Slow Food Movement. Proponents of slow food have adopted the snail as their mascot and meet regularly in convivial groups called conviviums to celebrate food, and to share it with other people. When I think about memorable meals that I have enjoyed, chances are that they were leisurely affairs, spent savouring good food with family or friends. That's what slow food is all about.
