DETAILS of new ``sting operations'' to target unscrupulous licensees emerged yesterday as it was confirmed drunken yobs had contributed to an 11pc rise in violent crime.
Home Office minister Hazel Blears said underage youths will be used by police in stings to catch shops and pubs which sell alcohol to minors.
Offending outlets and venues will also be named and shamed -possibly on Monday mornings after a weekend of targeted strikes -as part of a major campaign to tackle alcohol-fuelled violence.
