Akzo Nobel says its Organon pharma unit has agreed to pay $28-million to three U.S. generic drug makers to settle antitrust counterclaims related to Organon's antidepressant mirtazapine, sold under the tradename Remeron. The plaintiffs alleged that Akzo's filing of patent infringement claims delayed the market introduction of generic mirtazapine and violated antitrust laws.
