Despite the increasing amount of R&D on personalized medicine, blockbuster drugs will remain the main goal for many pharmaceutical firms, according to a recent Genetic Engineering News (GEN) website poll (www.genengnews.com). Three-hundred-and-forty-four individuals answered the poll, the results of which appear on page 1 of the April 15 issue of GEN.
The readers responded to the question "Will pharmacogenomics eventually end the reign of blockbuster drugs?" The results: 196 (57%) said "no" and 148 (43%) replied "yes."
