BRISBANE, April 30 Asia Pulse - A new study today found that a free trade deal with the United States would boost the Australian economy by A$6.1 billion (US$4.3 billion), but it immediately came under fire for its underlying assumptions.

The report, which was seized upon by the government to argue the deal was in Australia's interest, said although the economy would be A$6.1 billion bigger thanks to the agreement, the benefits could be as low as A$1.1 billion and as much as A$7.4 billion.
