Bangalore, May 2 (PTI) Plastic garbage in India's hi-tech city will end up literally on its streets when the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) this month begins laying over 500 km of road, using bitumen mixed with recycled plastic.
The BMP's contractors would use a proven environment-friendly technology of a polyblend of recycled plastic, developed by a private firm, using recycled plastic in their bitumen mixture to lay roads.
"We will begin the process of laying roads blended with recycled plastic this month, once the BCC standing committee gives the go ahead. The committee is waiting for the lapse of the election code of conduct," BMP Engineer ...
