Grapes and raisins may be hazardous to your dog's health. Those innocuous looking, sweet little fruits may be toxic for some dogs.
These findings were presented in two articles I recently reviewed to share with you: "The Wrath of Grapes" by Dr. Charlotte Means from ASPCA Animal Watch, Summer, 2002; and "The Grapes of Grief" by Keith Bush from Dog Fancy, March, 2003.
A number of examples of raisin and grape "poisonings" were presented in these articles, and the key seemed to be the quantity of grapes and raisins given - or "stolen" in the case of one border collie mix who, with the help of his canine buddy, managed to get at ...
