HARRISBURG, Pa., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Public Welfare Secretary Estelle B. Richman today marked the 30th birthday of the Pennsylvania State Foster Parent Association by thanking those who provide foster care and encouraging all Pennsylvanians to consider becoming foster parents. May is national Foster Care Month.
"Our need for foster parents - who open their homes and hearts to children in crisis - is great," Secretary Richman said. "On any given day in Pennsylvania, as many as 20,000 children require temporary foster care.
