SAN JOSE, Calif. _ In a positive signal for Olympic drug testers, Sen. John McCain said Wednesday that he might share evidence from the Balco Laboratories steroid case with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
McCain, a Republican from Arizona and chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, spoke after a private hearing in Washington with U.S. Olympic Committee and anti-doping officials, who have urged senators to help with access to evidence gathered in the case.
McCain also revealed that the Commerce Committee does not have grand-jury testimony from about 30 athletes linked to Balco, a Burlingame sports-nutrition company. That ...
