A new state plan to stop trying to kill every deer in southern Wisconsin where a fatal brain disease was found has drawn lukewarm support from a landowner group that's been critical of the 2-year-old eradication strategy.
"It is a step in the right direction, but they have a long ways to walk yet," Mark Peck of Arena said Tuesday. "If they had a reasonable goal, more people would buy into it."
