When Danny Kelley was a boy, a boxer chased him and scared the heck out of him, he said, leaving him with a lifelong loathing for the dog breed.
This week, the Drawbridge Inn employee and Newport resident has shared his days with about 700 versions of his former nemesis.
The dogs belong to the members of the American Boxer Club. More than 500 of them are in Fort Mitchell for their annual National Specialty Show.
There are boxers in the halls, boxers on the grounds, boxers in cages set up beside motor homes in the parking lots, boxers in photo displays, boxers memorialized on walls.
