NEW YORK, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Results from a year-long study of eszopiclone, a non-benzodiazepine under development by Sepracor Inc. for the treatment of insomnia, were presented today at the 157th annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association. In the study, eszopiclone provided sustained improvement in sleep and daytime function over 12 months of treatment. Additionally, patients previously treated with placebo during the first six months of the study reported an immediate and significant improvement in sleep and daytime functioning upon receiving eszopiclone.
