American Independence Corp. (NASDAQ: AMIC) today reported net income of $1.6 million ($.19 per share, diluted) for the three months ended March 31, 2004 compared to $2.0 million ($.24 per share, diluted) for the three months ended March 31, 2003. Revenues amounted to $17.4 million for the three months ended 2004, compared to revenues of $11.2 million for the three months ended March 31, 2003. Net income for the first quarter of 2004 includes a non-cash provision for federal income taxes of $807,000.
