Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to describe the value orientations of a sample of English preservice physical education teachers and to evaluate their compatibility with the National Curriculum for Physical Education (NCPE). A second purpose was to determine whether there were differences between the value orientations of preservice teachers who were near to completing a completing a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAEd) degree and those who were near to completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
