Henan Tongbai plans to invest RMB1.125 billion and construct the biggest soda chemical production base in the province. An investment of RMB705 million has already been used and another investment of RMB420 million will be made in 2005.
Most of the investment is used in the soda ash project. An investment of RMB590 million has been used and the soda ash capacity has reached 570 000 t/a. On this basis, another investment of RMB200 million will be made this year to complete the second-phase 400 000 t/a expansion project in Anpeng and form a total soda ash capacity of 970 000 t/a.
