WELCOME TO THE 1920s. Today's visit is sponsored by the Volstead Act, which reminds us that our behavior isn't acceptable until our government says it is.
That's why Congress passed the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990, amended in 2004, lumping anabolics in with barbiturates, horse tranquilizers and that darling of junk e-mail practitioners, Vicodin.
Possession of such substances without a doctor's prescription is a crime. Period.
In the '20s, per the Volstead Act, possession and sale of intoxicating beverages was similarly a heinous offense punishable by big fine or serious time.
