May 10--Diners in Rochester, Minn., no longer answer a question that is universal almost everywhere else: smoking or nonsmoking?
Restaurants in Olmsted County -- home of the Mayo Clinic and an international destination for visitors -- have been smoke-free for more than two years. Their experience offers a glimpse of what may lie ahead in St. Paul as the city considers its own ban on smoking in bars and restaurants.
