May 11--Lake County's Big Four industries still are absorbing the effect of the Lake County Judge Robert Pete's ruling that the county's 2002 general reassessment is unconstitutional.
U.S. Steel said it will appeal the ruling. BP and Ispat Inland Inc. are considering an appeal while International Steel Group didn't return calls for comment Monday.
Meanwhile Ed Charbonneau, interim director of the Northwest Indiana Forum, said the effect of the ruling on the region's business and industry can't be good because it creates "one more time of total confusion with a ...
