It was Syracuse this and Syracuse that throughout a tribute to Richard Gere taped last month and being shown tonight on USA Network.
But it wasn't until fellow actor and pal Denzel Washington got ready to present the award near the end of "American Museum of the Moving Image Salute to Richard Gere" that the honoree set the record straight from a table in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel ballroom in New York City.
"How are you? Good to see you and your family from Syracuse," Washington told Gere.
