The 10th-ranked Oregon softball team swept a nonleague doubleheader against Portland State at Howe Field on Wednesday.
The Ducks, who improved to 37-14 overall, blanked the Vikings 1-0 in the first game, and then recorded a 3-0 shutout in the second game.
`I thought we stayed focused and did what we needed to do to get a couple of wins today,' UO coach Kathy Arendsen said. `I didn't think we hit the ball as well as we are capable, but I'm pleased to come out with two wins.'
