Low-Fare Airlines Get High Marks: Newer airlines that offer discount fares, such as Southwest and JetBlue, were above the industry aver age on performance ratings last year, according to a study released earlier this month.

JetBlue, which began the first of three daily nonstop routes from San Diego to New York City about a year ago, scored high in punctuality with 86 percent of on-time arrivals. Its passengers also filed fewer complaints--0.31 per 100,000--than those of all other airlines.
