TOKYO, May 11 Asia Pulse - Kobelco-Eco Solutions Co. (TSE:6299) has begun working to cultivate new markets for its high-purity hydrogen oxygen generator (HHOG) systems, eyeing the time when hydrogen becomes a major energy source.

The HHOG technology generates hydrogen gas via the electrolysis of high-purity water using a membrane in a process that is basically the opposite of that of a fuel cell. Compared to conventional systems that make hydrogen gas by electrolyzing an alkaline water solution, the HHOG system produces hydrogen gas of higher purity, and the hardware can be built on a smaller scale.
