Gov. George Pataki believes the state could take in as much as $300 million in revenue this year from video lottery machines at racetracks ("racinos"), money he says could be used for education. Is there a new promotion in the works? Perhaps an "I Love (Gambling in) New York" campaign?
The ads could feature adults at the racetracks, holding up rent or mortgage money and proclaiming, "We're doing it for the kids!" One ad might show the governor cheering at the racetrack: "C'mon, New Yorkers ... Bring that education money in ... C'mon, bring it to Papa."
How about an ad with youngsters ...
