VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Magna Carta - one of the most important documents in Western civilization and the cornerstone of democracy - may be coming to Virginia Beach in 2007.
One of only four surviving originals from 1215, the Magna Carta may be here for the 400th anniversary of the arrival of English settlers at Cape Henry. Beach and British officials are finalizing plans now.
While many hurdles remain, Lincoln Cathedral in England, where the copy is housed, has agreed in writing to proceed with the loan.
