The Brazilian foreign commerce study center foundation Funcex (Fundacao Centro de Estudos do Comercio Exterior) has appointed an increase in imports due to a slightly resumption in domestic market. Between August 2003 and March 2004, imports of inputs targeted the manufacturing of export products increased by 10% over a 2% high in production. Imports totaled US$17.9bil in Jan-Apr 2004, a 16.2% increase over the same period in 2003.
