Counterfeit electronics from China and related challenges.(Finance & Forecast)

The Quality Brands Protection Committee (QBPC), a group of more than 80 multinationals doing business in China, offers a startling perspective, as of late 2003: "Counterfeiting has reached critical levels and the size and severity of counterfeiting in the PRC [People's Republic of China] has no historical parallels. Total annual losses from counterfeiting in the PRC are probably in the tens of billions of U.S. dollars per year and hundreds of billions of RMB."
