Caraustar Industries, Atlanta, reports revenues for the first quarter ended March 31 were $257.1 million, an increase of 1.7 per cent from revenues of $252.9 million for the same quarter in 2003. Net loss for the first quarter of 2004 was $6.8 million, compared to first quarter 2003 net loss of $7.1 million.

"The operating rate for Caraustar's mills topped 96 percent for the quarter, as total volume increased 2.7 percent over first quarter 2003," says Thomas Brown, president and chief executive officer.
