Crockett (in this issue) has offered a challenge to the field of learning disabilities (LD), centered on two questions of critical importance to the field: How can we link practice to research so that each student with LD receives the best instruction, and how we can ensure that teachers receive enough support to do their jobs and stay with them? Crockett has provided interesting and provocative suggestions to address these questions and assembled a highly qualified group of researchers to respond to her suggestions.
