Everyone's invited to check out the city of Elgin's fleet of big trucks and check out its new public works building this weekend.
The city invites residents of all ages to help it celebrate National Public Works Week from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the new public works building at 1900 Holmes Road, located south of Interstate 90 near McLean Boulevard.
As part of the event you can tour the new facility, ride in some of the city's public works vehicles, learn about what the department does and meet some of Elgin's 62 workers who take care of city streets, sewers, recycling, vehicles and traffic signs and ...
