Dear Reader: Send In Your Renewal Card!
I am in the habit of referring to you as one of our readers. The term reader is part of our editorial jargon. We're used to asking ourselves questions like "What do our readers want?" or "Will this article be clear to the reader." When I'm bragging about this magazine, I tell people that we have "over 106,000 readers."
Technically, that last statement is inaccurate on two counts, overlooking the fact that the figure is obviously a rounded-off average. Strictly speaking, I should say that we have over 106,000 recipients of this magazine. We can't be 100 percent sure that everyone who receives MODERN MACHINE SHOP ...
