Ford Motor Credit Co. will consolidate its North American sales activity, now in 163 branch offices, into 78 offices.
Remaining branches will coordinate service for all Ford Credit brands, including Ford, Volvo, Primus, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda and the financial arm's commercial lending unit. Ford is notifying dealers starting today, May 17.
Ford Credit says the change should improve service to dealers. Offices will be better staffed and have longer hours, including nights and weekends in markets with sufficient demand.
