Broadlane, San Francisco, in April began a group buy for computed radiography (CR) products. Konica Minolta Medical Imaging, Wayne, N.J., is the sole source. In an unusual move, Broadlane insisted members pre-commit to purchasing CR equipment before the contract was awarded.
"Through its unique pre-committed Group Buy program, Broadlane brings together hospital clinicians interested in voluntarily committing purchases of a specific diagnostic modality to a winning vendor with the most advanced technology, before bidding even begins," Broadlane explained in a statement.
