May 19--Fresno could become the world's leading center for water technology, a leading political columnist said Tuesday.
Dan Walters, a syndicated columnist for The Bee and other newspapers, said a growing population and the demand for more water are making it a precious resource.
"The economic value of water will soar," Walters told about 50 people who attended an economic development forum Tuesday at TorNino's sponsored by the State Center Community College District.
