UOHS fines Cesky Mobil CZK 6.5 mln for cartel pricing

The Czech Anti-Monopoly Office (UOHS) has fined Cesky Mobil (CM), operator of the Oskar mobile phone network, CZK 6.5 mln for an illegal pricing agreement.

UOHS chair Josef Bednar told reporters Wednesday that CM had signed contracts with distributors of prepaid cards binding them to prices set in 2000-2002.

Bednar characterized the agreement as a "vertical cartel," one of the most serious offenses.
