The state Supreme Court has given local boards more flexibility in granting exemptions to zoning ordinances that dictate dimensions of construction projects and place other limits on buildings.
The 4-2 decision is the second in two months from the state's highest court altering standards for zoning exemptions. Together, they affect how each of Wisconsin's county zoning boards decides to grant exceptions to rules restricting developments.
