VIACOM Inc. President Mel Karmazin was asked about a variety of topics during a session hosted by Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Some highlights:
* On Viacom's interest in buying Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.:
"We think a studio is worth more money to someone who doesn't have a studio. There's a price we'd put on the MGM library." Viacom, which owns the Paramount movie studio, can increase the number of movies it makes annually without buying another studio, he said.
