PORTLAND - John Kerry launched his two-day campaign stop in Oregon on Monday with help from some of the friends he hopes will help catapult him to the White House.
The presumptive Democratic nominee's early-evening stump speech, delivered to a Pioneer Courthouse Square crowd dominated by union members, followed introductions by former Democratic rival Howard Dean and Jim Rassmann, the former Green Beret now living in Florence who testified to Kerry's valor when they served together in Vietnam.
