2004 MAY 24 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) could face a "serious deficit" unless cuts are made to a program that helps needy families, an agency spokesman said.
A state panel that recommended cuts in the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program 3 years ago will meet to discuss more reductions.
"They will be fairly severe," DHHR spokesman John Law said of the possible reductions.
