2004 MAY 29 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Immtech International, Inc., (IMM) announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Immtech's first oral drug, DB289, fast track drug development designation for use to treat human African sleeping sickness (Trypanosomiasis).
The FDA's fast track designation is recognition that DB289 potentially represents an important new drug to combat and treat this life-threatening disease for which no other oral treatment exists.
