IT may have some wine snobs choking on their Chateau Petrus.
A leading off-licence chain is to sell bottles classified by taste rather than the traditional grouping of country of origin.
Headings on the new groupings will give buyers a simple guide to how the wine tastes.
For whites, the classifications used by Unwins will be 'bright, smooth or rounded' while reds will be grouped under 'fruity, mellow or chunky'.
There will also be a tasting table for customers to try examples of each of the six descriptions.
